ABOUT

Hello! I’m Amy, the person behind the beetle! I’m a 21 year old Irish artist who tables at conventions and markets. I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. My parents could tell you about how I spent every moment of my free time doodling, painting, sketching, and crafting, and with the purchase of an iPad to move to digital art in 2021, I have been able to expand my range of mediums. Traditionally, I work with acrylics, watercolour, oil pastels, alcohol markers, and pencil, whilst digitally I use Procreate, a drawing program. Everything is illustrated by me, from original scene work and creatures to fanart with my own spin, and each of my pieces owns bright, vibrant colours, making my art stand out. Beetleheaddesigns is home to wacky, wonderful characters such as my saddle beetle, my moth cats, and my own mythical beasts. Queer representation features heavily within my work, with special attention to WLW characters. Being a lesbian myself, I feel it’s important to represent and relate in my art. In my work, I aim to have something, for everyone.
